Don't say this to your children during your divorce.
November 11, 2017

Parents should never say "Don't blame me!", "I didn't ask for this divorce" or "It's because of your mother...". In other words, don't play the blame game. There is no blame in a divorce. There is no right or wrong in a divorce. It's merely a matter of perspective. Releasing attachments to the limited ideas of blame and punishment teaches children that we don't solve problems from an ego centered approach and with additional conflict. When you place blame on the other parent you demonstrate your inability to take responsibility for your own actions to act in positive manner. Set an example of integrity by not bad mouthing your spouse. If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.
